I've lived in the country all my life, I've visited some states and I've observed Nigerians to be spectacular in some ways.
This thread shows some random basic facts I've observed in Nigerians.
1. our number 1 problem in the country isn't corruption. It's DISCRIMINATION. Yes, a Yoruba wouldn't enjoy been around an Igbo, an engineering student would look down on art students, a medical student look down on agriculture students, in fact as a whole, the summary is Nigerians always hate anything unfamiliar. The solution, let's try to reach out to others no matter their tribe or way of living
2. Nigerians are nice people. Yes even if they're racists, if a man is stranded and he calls for help, Nigerians wanna try their best to help him. It's actually a nationwide love.
3. corruption isn't part of any of our culture. It's some people that are wayward that become rebels. Even @the most corrupt places in the country, the rebels aren't publicly known
4. Many Nigerians tend to brag big about even their smallest properties. Yep, Nigerians exaggerate allot
5. Most minds in the country needs reorientation. Take for example the poll I took not quite long with my friends. The question was if you were a president, what would be your priority? The average answer was make money, make more money, make even more money. Let's try and change this thought.
6. Sadly, our traditions are fading away. Especially @the south. It's obvious that most southern children and teenagers can't speak their mother tongue neither do they understand it. Our former president sidelined his native name (Ebele) and answered the name of a culture that isn't ours. Parents mostly don't have time to educate their children about their heritage
7. Most young boys and girls prefer watching American and Indian movies rather than Nigeria made movies. Meanwhile, enjoy Nigeria musics than that of foreigners.
8. The tribes that cooks most are from the south east. The west tend to cook food filled with red oil. The north cooks but their dishes haven't really been exploited
9. This one sounds STRANGE. The north are mostly Muslims, the west are half Muslim half Christian and few traditional, the east are mostly Christians then the south are about 75% Christians and 25% traditional. The funny part is that the biggest churches in Nigeria are formed by western pastors. In fact, there are very few popular churches made by eastern pastors. The head of Christian association of Nigeria is a southern man, and most pastors at Abuja are from the north. Eastern people tend to progress well on Orthodox churches. They're at top positions at Catholic, Anglican and even JW.
10. It's the dream of every Nigerian that there be peace and unity everywhere. The eastern people (Biafrans) have given up hope but not all hope is lost. The southern and western people try their best to cooperate. All these pointing that if there is 1 day that unity could exist between us, it would be a big miracle.
These are some that I've found. I think I'll make a part 2 of this thread in the future
