The city of Warri, arguably the second most popular city in Nigeria is located at south south Nigeria and the birthplace of most entertainers in the country.
Here are few things you must know about it;
1. Warri is so big it has three local governments (Warri south, Warri north and Warri south west)
2. Warri is shared by three tribes (urhobo, itsekiti, ijaw) but still home to others
3. Most lands in Warri are offshore (escravos, most ijaw villages, etc)
4. Warri is home to ex militant leader tompolo
5. Warri is the unofficial capital of Delta state. Asaba is less developed and populated than Warri
6. Oil city. But not controlled by its indigenes. There is a refinery at Warri but the MD isn't someone even from Delta state. Most resources in Warri are controlled by others
7. Warri owns a port and also a steel company which was mysteriously closed together. Now the port of Lagos is the only working port in the country while Warri port is wasting away. How bad
8. Most youths from Warri are troopping out of the city for job employment while industries are here wasting
9. A valid reason why most private companies leave the city isn't outside influence. It's because the indigenes of Warri (especially urhobo) always pests the companies with development fees and ghost workers.
