Lassa fever

Similar to ebola, lassa fever is a fever cause by a virus. Lassa fever was first discovered in borno Nigeria in 1969.
The virus is mostly found in a specie of rats. This disease kills fast and is easily caught. I've researched ways in which we can catch the decease with everyday activities. This post's purpose is to bring in ways in preventing the disease.

1. Since there are rats almost everywhere, try your best to maintain a rat free environment by killing them using poisons and/or traps.

2. Don't store food in open places since the rats can easily reach it then poop and pee in it.

3. Even if a plate or pot appears clean, always rinse it before usage because rats might have walked through it.

4. Any serving spoon should always be washed before usage because rats would definitely lick it at night

5. Try your best to limit your usage of garri. Most garri are bought in bush market which unarguably hosts a large population of rats. Although making eba with garri actually isn't that bad because the heat of the water can kill the virus, making soaked garri doesn't affect the virus so you could easily catch lassa fever from soaking garri.

6. Don't hold rats with your hands. Don't play a hero. Always protect yourself if you must hold rat. A rat could die due to anything other than the poison you think it consumed.

7. Educate your children and the people around you about this topic and it's seriousness.

8. Always wash your hands because your hand might touch a furniture which a rat might have peed in.

9. In continuation with no.8, don't suck your finger. Your hands might have touched an infected area. Sucking your finger might fasten up the process of you been.
