The little things in life

'The Little Things In Life'. This (should I call it) phrase is popular. Although known to all, it's meaning is hardly applied in our daily lives. The little things in life are actually the most essential. How? This post would tell you and also give you examples of little things.

The little things in life are viewed as compliments to our daily lives. They're viewed as 'by the way' things which are just fun but neither necessary nor compulsory, but I stand against that view point. I'll try as much as I can to explain why the little things are the most essential, and should be viewed as compulsory in our everyday lives. Remember the description of this blog: acknowledging and appreciating the little things life has to offer.
The little things in life could be defined as what adds juice to an action. Things that could easily be enjoyed and are solely driven by your decisive actions. Examples of little things are: love for (not of) your family, fun at the university, choosing a boy over others just because he's handsome, so on and so forth. This means that the little things occupy like 10% of the reasons for your actions. Now, why are these very necessary?

There's a popular story. I want to retell the story:

A teacher comes to class with a jar, large stones, small stones, sand and water. He fills the jar with the large stones till it was filled to capacity. He then asks the students if the jar was full. They all agreed and said yes. He then started adding small stones to the jar while shaking it. The stones were filled to capacity then he asks the students if it was filled up. The students weren't in unison as some said yes and others said no. He adds sand inside the jar until the sands again, completely covers the jar. This time, the students all agreed it was filled then shouted yes. To make it more fun, he added the water till capacity. All the students started laughing as they were confused.

According to the story, your life looks, but isn't complete if you haven't added the little things. The large stones meant the basic needs such as food, clothing, shelter. The small stones meant money, transportation, socialization. The sand however which fills up the jar means the little things. Take for example the university. Let the university be the jar. Your basic needs in the university is books and attention. Your secondary needs are food, accommodation etc but the little things are fun outing, socialization and relationship. In order for you to have optimum experience in schooling life, you'll need all I've mentioned. The little things life has to offer have been ignored by many because of the greed.

Simply said, the little things are not to be toyed with because:
1. You'll get ultimum experience
2. You'll get more people around you
3. You'll have variety as to not just following the normal ways to do things but been adventurous and think outside the box

Now how can we know the little things?
There identified by your second reason for doing some things.

Eg:
1. A woman was asked why she chose to marry a man. Her first reason might be because his God fearing or whatever. Her second reason however, would be that he's tall, fair, handsome, etc. This simply means she appreciates what life has to offer.
2. A boy goes to school with the focus of a first class degree. Fine, but who said been friendly and open would become obstacles? The boy, loosening up a bit means he's ready to appreciate life's offerings.
3. A company which takes its employees to vacations and recreations. This means although work is important, the little things life has to offer are as well, important.

Try your best to acknowledge and appreciate life's little offerings.
