I would prefer using the word destiny but what am trying to explain here (although sounds like destiny), isn't destiny.
This post would enlighten you reading it to stand out in defending your life and securing your future. The best way to understand this post is to note these words: no tree can be taller than its umbrella tree.
This post would enlighten you reading it to stand out in defending your life and securing your future. The best way to understand this post is to note these words: no tree can be taller than its umbrella tree.
Your purpose, according to this post means your reason for living, what God(when creating you), made in you for you.
Your purpose could be altered and you'll most probably find another route to live life but your real reason for life (according up God's view) has been altered.
Let's start with how this topic matches our present situation.
The world is in a state whereby your connection is better than your certificate. A state whereby the oil in your land is a reason for joy. A state whereby your father been employed in shell is a reason for happiness. Let's call all these uplifters. An uplifter, according to this post, is something around you that isn't around people for example expensive natural resource, employment, wealthy family, and so on and so forth.
Although uplifters could be the best things that could ever happen to you, they could be the worst. Sincerely, an uplifter, if not handled well would become something that depreciates your worth. What do I mean? Uplifters tend to hide your purpose from you (your own self worth). Take for example: this boy's father works in Shell, and has all connections to different oil companies. His father's wealth and connection is his uplifters. Now his real purpose in life (God given reason to live), is that he's very good in carpentry, not just good, but also has an unending passion for carpentry. Now, this boy actually has a big dilemma to face. He either follows his uplifters or follow his reason. Here's the outcome of following either of them:
If he follows his father's connection, he'll unarguably be rich, and also have connections, he'll secure jobs and wealth for his family. But he has lost his God given purpose which arguably could be better than this, and now he won't be remarkable.
If he follows his passion as a carpenter, he'll suffer because his father doesn't have connection in that field so he's a pioneer. He'll get discouraged from family members. He has followed his reason for living, been a pioneer, he has made his own firm and could employ people, he has something remarkable.
The word remarkable, implies that if he'll ever be described by someone to another person, suppose he followed his father's foot print, he'll be described as that guy that works in shell. Is he the only person that works in shell? Suppose he followed his reason for living, he'll be described as the owner of that company. How many owners does the company have? Just 1. In this way, he's easily identified.
Don't forget that the owner of shell once had a dream to own a big company and employ thousands of people. You working in shell, means you're living the dream of someone else (your living in his reason for living). But suppose you follow your reason, when you've employed people, they'll be living in your dream. If you question most students in school about their aspirations in life, the conclusion most would give is that wasn't too secure a good job. Very few would say they want to create a good job. There's a big deference between securing and creating jobs.
Another aspect of uplifters around you is natural resource. If a land is endowed with oil (for example), you'll see most young people studying oil related courses so engineering would be trending. With these, suppose engineering wasn't their purpose in life, they're now using their uplifters in a wrong way.
Take this principle:
If you use your uplifters in a wrong way, they'll end up swallowing your purpose.
If you use your uplifters in a wrong way, they'll end up swallowing your purpose.
The overall conclusion of this post is that you should be innovative and think outside the box. Your purpose in life starts outside the comfort zone. So long as you're focusing all of you in the comfort zone, you haven't started living.
Now what-if you now agree with me and you're now searching for your purpose? Read my short post: securing your purpose.
