Today (29 Feb) is an example of leap days. Leap days are formed by the 1/4 day in the 365,1/4 days that make a year. A normal year would consist of just the 365 days. That 1/4 which is 6 hours would then be multiplied by 4 to give you 24 hours which would bring a leap year. This post would show some fun things to do today.
