Your Reputation

Reputation is what you're known for by others. Reputation is solely determined by the way you act or behave around others. This post would encourage you to have a good reputation(show you it's benefits) and ways you could either build or ruin your reputation.

There's a saying: 'a good reputation is better than fine gold'. It's actually true, cause, when people know the limits of things you could do, you won't easily be accused of something by someone. Someone with a good reputation can relate with these points as follows:

1. Limit actions/words
If people know you a someone who wouldn't insult others or fights, you'll neither insult nor fight when you're around them. This means your reputation determines the words you speak and the actions you take while around others. Some other decisions regulated by your reputation are choosing clothes, movies, places to go. No human want to purposely spoil his reputation.

2. People around you
Your reputation determines the people around you. No mother would want her children to associate with someone with a bad reputation. Once you notice good people are distancing themselves from you, please check yourself.

3. People's feelings towards you
If you've got a bad reputation, you'll either be feared or hated. You'll see people been secretive while around you if you're someone that gossips. If you've got a good reputation, the general feelings people would show towards you are love and trust. People would want to hang around you. If you're known as someone who's smart, perhaps in your working place, you'll definitely be given more trusted jobs.
Reputation truly plays a large role on your life. These are some ways in which we could build and/or tear down our reputation:

1. The fastest way to correct a spoilt reputation is to apologize and explain to the people around you that you've changed. If people sense your honesty, they'll clear past memories instantly.

2. If you're a parent, don't discipline your child at a place filled with people. Never tell people the wrong doings of your child. If you do, either that child could become more secretive, more cunning, or could begin showing out what's really in him because now he's got nothing more to hide.

3. Set limits of your actions so when someone wants to convince you into doing something wrong, you'll firmly say No.

4. If you've already been known by all for a bad behavior (maybe been rude or smoking), it'll be hard for people to just agree that you've changed if you've actually changed. The best thing to do is to always keep explaining, don't comment in any related issue but if you must, just say you've stopped. In case you've not changed, read this post to assist you: changing your behavior
