1. Free your mind
If your mind is filled with thoughts, there won't be anyway to memorize a new information. Thoughts, emotions, plans and ideas can overwhelm your mind. Read this post: 'overwhelming thoughts', to learn how to free your mind.
2. Relate it with something
In an earlier post of mine: 'funny how our brain works', we learnt that situations, places, information, experiences and feelings could mix with either of each other in a way that if you come across one, you'll be reminded of the other. An example is the place you met your fiance for the first time, you'll always remember that feeling if you walk pass through there. We could use this trick to memorize better. Let's say you want to tell a story about what once happened in your life. At that time, there was a trending song almost everyone played. If you play that song, you might remember everything that happened.

3. Add fun
You can't store an information for long if you're over serious. You could find a song or any phrase that has some words also available in what you're memorizing. If you're playing that song and come across those words, you'll remember well. Don't allow a large cut of life to pass you by just because of one thing*.

4. If possible, share it
If it's not a private information, share it with someone. Just ask a friend to remind you of it at a particular time. Even if you both forget, it's easier and more fun when two people try to remember something. Sharing information with people could boost your relationship*.

5. Jot down
Books don't lie. There's no greater way to store information/memory than to write it for future purpose. If there's no book or means to keep the note, use any of the preceding ways till a writing tool is available. Writing is also beneficial in other countless ways*.
